Important Information!

Please welcome Cheryl Allgood as our associate at the conference office. She will serve to facilitate our ministry through her skills at communication and organization. Cheryl is experienced in the role of supporting Women’s Ministries through her work with Rose Otis. We are thrilled that she is helping us develop an accurate email contact list so we can stay connected with each other. You may be receiving a call from her in the near future.

•    Please, I really need your help to improve our reporting of our Women’s Ministries events. These reports are due back to the office each quarter in April, July, October and then January. We are including a copy with this letter. The report can also be filled out on line by accessing it on the Union web site: http://southwesternunion.org/department.php?deptID=wom

There will be Women's Ministries certification training beginning Thursday evening and continuing on Friday. Shirley Benton from the Columbia Union will do our English tract.  Kathy Cameron from Lake Union will do our Spanish tract.

•    For our new Women’s Ministries leaders we have the little book, “Quick Start” that contains a succinct overview of our ministry and how to begin. You can get a copy by sending Cheryl a note with your address: callgood@txsda.org

The words, “Thank-you!” do not express how profoundly important your leadership and ministry are in the cause of the Gospel. We pray for God’s daily anointing that souls might be won to eternal salvation.

Texas Conference Women’s Ministries Leadership Summit
Sabbath evening, March 29 and Sunday, March 30, 2008

Theme: Touch A Heart, Tell the World: Part 1

A time of leadership encouragement, networking and prayer as we focus on outreach to our communities.

On Sabbath evening, March 29 and Sunday, March 30 many of you met with us for the Leadership Summit at Fredericksburg. We were blessed as Carla Baker affirmed our role as leaders in making our churches safe places for friends and neighbors to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Carla also shared some new resources and ideas. You will find an insert about the ‘Keeping the Faith’ series with this letter.
Betty Trevino shared her adventure as a new evangelist through her service in Rwanda and what God did to change her life through that outreach. The Fairview Mosaic Church’s team, beginning with leader, Joyce Yeager, shared how God has taken their journey from the fall 2007 retreat to an upcoming fall 2008 evangelistic series where the ladies will be the speakers. Their Women’s Ministries Committee has grown in size and spiritual depth and connection to each other as they have engaged in planning for this daring outreach.
